What's New At....

24:7 News - 11th May, 2004

Hi there.

Well lots has been happening in the last few weeks. It has been great to see so many of you chatting in church and also quite a few of you coming along to 24:7 activities.

So far, we've about a dozen different people coming to the Sunday evening Drop-In and a similar number have said that they'll be coming along soon... And the Girls Evening had, I think, over a dozen at Claire Freeman's flat as well - by all accounts this was a huge success! (Thanks to Kay Dawson, Claire and Wendy!)

Also the past few weeks have been good for me, personally, to make contact with some 'new faces' (even though most of you have been around Cheadle longer than me!) and get a feel for what many of you would like to see happening in 24:7.

Keep giving us your ideas and feedback - and get in touch if we haven't yet spoken to one another!

Anyway, here is an overview of (some) of the EVENTS occurring over the next few months:

Note this is a only summary. Check out the 24:7 website or email/phone/txt us for more details:

Every week: Sunday evening Drop-In, which runs from 5:30pm to 6:25pm every Sunday before church, in the Upper Room. Everyone welcome. Come early enough and you can have a say in which flavour pizzas are cooked!

May

15th Men's Convention - not just for 24:7 members, but several of us are going. Phone David Capener on 01625 858 923, but do this very soon because you have to get a ticket and stuff before Saturday.

28th Curry and Playstation Evening (8pm-til late) For more details, contact Martin Loy on 24.7@cheadle.org or txt me on 07903 3580561. Well, it's for Curry fans, Playstation (and PS2) fans and those that just want a night out/in, having a laugh!

June

6th Praise and Prayer session with NET in church after evening service. In the noticesheet. Should be great! Contact Wendy Loy 428 5032 or see Jonny Miles for more details.

12th Men's (Evangelistic) Breakfast - "What is Your Ultimate Goal?". For men of all ages. Bring friends along for a football-themed gospel talk and a full English! Contact David Capener on 01625 858923 or email david@capener.fslife.co.uk

12th Walk and BBQ - 'Leisurely' chance to catch up with people and meet new friends, enjoy the countryside and then pig out on sausage and burgers (Veggie option available!). Contact Daniel Hill on e-mail or chat to him in church or at the Sunday Drop-In.

13th Football on the big screen, 7:45pm-10pm. England v France Euro 2004 Championship. Bring your friends to the 6:30 service (and Drop-In beforehand if you want to make an evening of it!) and then up to the Upper Room for BIG screen viewing! ["It's coming home..."] Look out for more details or contact Martin or Wendy Loy if you have any questions.

Remember the Drop-In is every Sunday!

Also, in the pipeline other 24:7 events...

Including:

Excursion to the Seaside - picnic, beach volleyball, etc. etc.

Traditional Jazz Evenings: Most Fridays at Didsbury Cricket Club-contact Daniel Hill by e-mail or on 01625 560430 or 07903 129051 for further details. A small group of 24:7 members go to this quite regularly. Get in touch if you fancy going along as well.

and most especially an "end of exams celebration" !!!!

So, all you students out there, get in touch about when you finish, when you're around and what you'd like to see happen...!

Oh, and the rest of June and July is going to be packed with events as well!

Hope this is enough to get your teeth into. If you can't make any of these, let us know when you're around and we'll try to fix something else up. It doesn't have to be a big thing to make it worth advertising.

Please note, all of the above are happening because other people have suggested them or offered to run them!!!

Hope you are well,

God bless,

Martin Loy
